California = Mexico

One thing I have noticed since being in Southern California is that there are a ton of Mexicans everywhere. And I mean a whole lot of them. (Maybe my view is skewed because I am constantly in areas that have a heavy concentration of Mexicans, but still, it's almost like I am in Mexico: I'm always speaking spanish and I am eating a lot of Mexican food.) California might as well belong to the country of Mexico. The Mexicans here go on about their lives as if they are still in Mexico: they speak Spanish to everyone, they drive old cars, they sell food food on the street, they shop at Mexican grocery stores and they hardly speak english. I can see why there are some U.S. born citizens that urge the US gov't to close the borders. These Mexicans just keep pouring in and seemingly go on with their lives as if they still believe they are in Mexico. I'm not complaining. It's great to be surrounded by good Mexican restaurants (every good mexican restaurant makes fresh tortillas!! fresh tortillas taste soooo good. Plus, they have plenty of Aguas Frescas! I am eating so good right now. But I still haven't found good Enchilladas like they have at TBP2) and it's good to be surrounded by Mexican families. But man, I wonder what is going to happen when the pot boils over? Seriously, everyone should start learing Spanish now, because you'll have no other choice.

WWE: Raw LIVE

Stone Cold Steve Austin, originally uploaded by delgonzo.

WWE Wrestling came to the Staples Center in Los Angeles and I made sure I was there. After missing Wrestlemania 21 on Sunday, I was not going to miss their monday night show (WWE: RAW). It was cool. But, no HULK HOGAN!! Other than that, it was a cool show. Our seats where in the Premium Section, so we were next to all the Sky Boxes and had access to nicer facilities. Pretty sweet. The Staples center is not that bad.

Sin City

Sin City, originally uploaded by delgonzo.

What a cool movie SIN CITY is!! This film is such an important step in the evolution of cinema. (quite a claim, huh?) Robert Rodriguez (the director) has pioneered a new film genre. The style and tone of this film is so groundbreaking that I can't wait for more films shot in a similar manner (as long as they don't start overdoing it. Man, like when everybody was copying the style and tone of PULP FICTION. Geez I hated that. (cough)THE BOONDOCK SAINTS(cough)THE BIG HIT(cough)). Go see SIN CITY and tell me what you think.

The Little Orange House in Compton

For lunch on a sunny afternoon in the town of Compton, we decided to look for a place that stood out. A place where you wouldn't take a date. A place that looks a little beat up. This place was such a place. It wasn't the nicest looking restaurant, it wasn't the cleanest, but man did they have good tacos. (Pam, you would love this place). They have this sweet deal where you can get 10 delicious tacos for $4.00!! Of course I got the 10 tacos! It would be wrong of me not to get the 10 tacos. For the record, I love eating. I love eating good food. Anyone that has sit down at lunch/dinner/breakfast with me, knows that I can't bypass a good meal(s). Other than the time I ordered 3 entrees and a dessert at ACME Oyster House in New Orleans, I think this ranks up there with the most food I ever ate in one sitting.
