The Late Late Show

Set your TiVo for late night tv on Tuesday, May 3, 2005!! That is the day when I make my first talk show appearance. Okay, so I won't be an on-air guest (yet, give me 10 years), but I will be in the audience for "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." If you haven't seen the Late Late show, this will be your chance to catch the new host: Craig Ferguson. He's this cool Scottish guy who pulls his own against the other late night hosts. I'm excited, I know you're excited, so now let's see what happens on May 3!

Ellen

If you're a viewer of the show "Ellen," you may want to try and spot me. This past Tuesday, we went to a taping of the Ellen DeGeneres show. It was alright. The guests were Paris Hilton for the May 6, Mother's Day Episode; then for the regular taping, they had Penny Marshall and Rob Morrow. I know, I don't know where you'd know them from either. Actually, Penny Marshall is either Laverne or Shirley, one of the two. And Rob Morrow is the guy from the show NUMBERS and NORTHERN EXPOSURE. The guests themselves were pretty boring. They were all full of themselves and the only good part of the show was when they compared pet pictures to celebrities. How it works is, you send in a picture of your pet and then Ellen decides which celebrity most resembles your pet and then hilarity ensues. Our seats were located in the "Tom Hanks Rif Raff Room," that is the room for all the people that had tickets but could not get seats. What they do is: they always give out more tickets than they have seats for in order to ensure a full house. Usually, if you do not get a seat you are out of luck and you just wasted a couple hours of your life waiting in line. But, the ELLEN show provides you with a room to chill and hang out while you watch her show on widescreen tv's. It's was an interesting experience. They encouraged people to dance and shout. Seeing older people dance is not fun to me, so I mostly just sat in the back. A cool thing is that they gave us tickets to come back! Yay! So now I get to do this all over again. We'll be attending the Monday, May 2 taping. Which I think will air Tuesday, May 3. Of course I'm not really excited to go back, all these girly, talk about your life shows, just don't do it for me. But eh, it's something to do on our day off. Plus, we received a copy of "Meet the Fockers" on DVD the first time, I wonder what we'll get the second time.

Wasteland

This past Sunday we had a big Cinco de Mayo event at Whittier National Park. There were tents, food, concerts and a ton of Mexican families walking around grabbing free samples and enjoying the sun. We were there to do what we do best: hand out free candy. We also had a big time Mexican celebrity sign autographs for all her fans. The event was a huge success and we gave away a lot of candy: over 9'000 samples!!! It was a long day as well, we had to set up at 6am and we did not leave until 7pm! I have never been so sore from giving away candy. I didn't even think you can get sore from giving away candy. If that was the case, I think Halloween would not exist. But one thing that really disgusted me from the event was how people just threw there trash on the floor. Forget the garbage cans, the floor is right there. No need to walk and find one, just toss it down! When we arrived at 6am the park was beautiful, it was a nice, litter-free place. When we left, you could not find grass. What made matters worse was that the park district encouraged this by letting people know that there was no need to clean up since "volunteers" would come in and clean the mess up for them. So with people getting the "ok" for waste disposal, there was nothing you could not find in the garbage. I found a couple of stinky diapers myself.

Playoffs

This is the NBA Playoffs, and let the truth be told: da Bulls are going to face the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference semi-finals. It's good to see the young Bulls pull a 2 game lead in the best of 7 series versus the Washington Wizards. (Don't you think it's interesting how Michael Jordan played for both teams!? It's like the Spirit of MJ Series). All you Chicago fans, this is your time to start cheering for da Bulls!
