Wasteland
This past Sunday we had a big Cinco de Mayo event at Whittier National Park. There were tents, food, concerts and a ton of Mexican families walking around grabbing free samples and enjoying the sun. We were there to do what we do best: hand out free candy. We also had a big time Mexican celebrity sign autographs for all her fans. The event was a huge success and we gave away a lot of candy: over 9'000 samples!!! It was a long day as well, we had to set up at 6am and we did not leave until 7pm! I have never been so sore from giving away candy. I didn't even think you can get sore from giving away candy. If that was the case, I think Halloween would not exist. But one thing that really disgusted me from the event was how people just threw there trash on the floor. Forget the garbage cans, the floor is right there. No need to walk and find one, just toss it down! When we arrived at 6am the park was beautiful, it was a nice, litter-free place. When we left, you could not find grass. What made matters worse was that the park district encouraged this by letting people know that there was no need to clean up since "volunteers" would come in and clean the mess up for them. So with people getting the "ok" for waste disposal, there was nothing you could not find in the garbage. I found a couple of stinky diapers myself.

Whittier College is where Richard Nixon went to school. Also, I'm trying to decide whether to delete your most recent blog comment. Help me out here...
