An early dismissal

Guess what? Since we've been doing so good, they have decided to send us back early! Yes, instead of heading back to Chicago on the 29th of May, I will be heading back to Chicago on the 24th of May. A lot more reasons go into why we are getting sent back early, maybe if you talk to me when I get back I can fill you in. This has caused a mad scrabble to finish my California adventure with a bang! You know about Jay Leno on Tuesday. Wednesday night we went to the midnight showing of STAR WARS. Thursday night I headed back to Huntington Beach with a date, and ate at this great restaurant on the beach (Duke's Huntington Beach) and then made our way out to Hermosa Beach to meet up with friends. Friday night Sabrina and I drove down to San Diego to meet up with Heather (a friend from Chicago) and we hung out in OB ("Ocean Beach", for you non-locals). And that takes me to today: I'm off to Venice Beach with a buddy! Tomorrow: Go to Santa Barbara for dinner with my Pops. And I saved the best for last: a Monday night baseball game featuring the Chicago White Sox versus the Anaheim Angels!!!! I cannot wait, I have my White Sox hat ready and our Terrace Level tickets are set. What a way to go out.

The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

On this Tuesday off we went to a taping of THE TONIGHT SHOW with JAY LENO. We had to request the tickets six weeks ago and I guess it was worth it. I was a little disappointed with the guests he had on: Glenn Close, 2 kids who survived 6 days stranded on a boat over the Atlantic and this fat comedian. I had fun, the experience was cool, but of all the cool guests that could have been on I get stuck seeing this group. Recall that I was pretty disappointed with the guests Craig Ferguson had on, so my luck with Talk Show guests has not been good. This is how bad it's been: It's been so bad that out of all the guests I've seen on the shows (shows include: "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," "Ellen" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno") the highlight has been Paris Hilton. Yuck, I know. Oh, speaking of Paris, this fat comedian had a funny bit about her. He said he downloaded her porn off the net and that his computer not only got a virus, but a bad sore. Haha. But seriously, next time I go see a Show live, they better have some kick ass guests! If not, ferget aboutit. A nice bonus we got after the Jay Leno show: seeing Gwen Stefani in a little concert out in the park next to NBC studios.

Kicking and Screaming with laughter

Delicious, originally uploaded by delgonzo.

Did you know Gonzalo saw the new Will Ferrell movie "Kicking and Screaming" twice! Yes, the movie is that funny. Will Ferrell just brings laughter to your life and I thank him for that. Plus, the little Asian kid brings a smile to your face too.

Just like the old college days

Sunday night we met up with another Marketing Werks group at this rave like club in Hollywood. It was this big warehouse that had 2 full bars and a stage with a DJ spinning house music. Pretty cool scene. The only downside was the $20 cover, but it was well worth it as I was appointed the Designated Driver and got free drinks all night. (wait a minute? What?!) After hours of dancing and being cool, we head out to their hotel over on Sunset. That's when the fun began. What proceeded to happen that evening has not been done since my College days with Ben, Chandler and Watson at DePaul University: we drank beer and played Nintendo! I couldn't believe it, this guy Mike brought along his Nintendo Gamecube and had some great games to go with it. All those games didn't matter, since all we played till 7am was MARIO KART: DOUBLE DASH. When I walked into that hotel room and saw that wonderful machine, I jumped for joy. Sadly, not one of them were a real challenge for my skills, except Mike (but he said he would be better if he wasn't wasted...right. Excuses are for losers!). When I think of worthy opponents I think of the great legends like Gordon Knoppe and Ben Zale. And to a lesser extent, Ryan Knoppe. Yes, the force is strong with them.
