Hollywood!

Today was a day like no other, it was a day filled with Beverly Hills and Hollywood! Well okay, so I really didnt have a chance to walk down any famous streets, nor did I have time to pose with the HOLLYWOOD sign, but I did have time to get trained in the art of how to control an interview. Yes friends, Gonzalo was in some heavy Media Training today! I must say, it was pretty cool.
First, the location of the training was this swanky, ultra modern, ultra slick PR office in the Pacific Design Center. I couldn't get over how L.A. lives up to it's posh, over doing it reputation (at least that's what I think of L.A.). Not only are the people dressed hip and cool, their offices, kitchens and elevators are hip and cool. And there I was, smack in the middle of it all with white sneakers, dark green socks and Khakis pants. (SQUARE)
After I got over how dull I looked compared to the slick decor, I settled in the board room. From there, it was nothing but the do's and dont's of how to get interviewed. One thing that I will share with you all, is that you should always know what message you are trying to get across in an interview. In our case, it's: "Pelon Pelo Rico is completely safe, and complies with FDA, food safety experts." So no matter what I get asked, somehow I have to always go back to that main message.
Second, when we were done getting schooled in media and in how to have a sweet looking office, we made our way to lunch.
We had lunch at "Le Pain Quotidien," a neat little cafe/bakery on Melrose Avenue. This is the kind of place where you can come and talk about poetry, life, wine and parties...plus, you're allowed to have dogs there (at least in the outside eating area). So that place was filled with people that looked like they just got up and dragged themselves to breakfast, and it also had people that looked liked they just got out of the club. I had this delicious bread dish of guacamole, shrimp and salsa. I don't know how to describe it, but it was GOOD.
Since then, it's been nothing but studying our media messages, keeping myself up to date with the whole Steroid Hearing and now, I have started to watch the Lakers vs Heat game. FUN!
You know, there is something I miss in all of this excitement that is Los Angeles. I miss TiVo. Seeing commercials on tv is so 90's.

Comments:
Nice blog...you can visit mine if you want at http://www.elaine5.blogspot.com but there might..be.. some things you won't like there (cough cough like that Republicans suck). Oh, I watched some of the steroid hearings today while babysitting, I think Mark McGwire may have used the words "positive" and "future" just a few too many times... Also, Raphael Palmero looks like an '80s soap opera actor. I don't know about those baseball guys...I think they're even worse than...politicians! (except for Bush)
Anyway, keep up the good work in California, and remember, FDA approved.

so do u have mad "uncle rico" sales skills now or what? like a nametag all laminated with your picture on it and what not. have fun dude, l8r
