An Evening with the Padres
I came to my senses and decided not to return to the ELLEN SHOW. Instead, I decided to make a drive down to San Diego and catch a Padres game. Ahh, San Diego, of course if you've seen ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND OF RON BURGUNDY you know San Diego was founded by the Germans in the late 1800's and San Diego translates to "Whales Vagina." But I didn't get too much of a chance to verify all that, since this was not a School trip, this was a baseball trip. I showed up to the park about an hour early and walked around and familiarized myself with the surroundings. Petco Park is only 2 yeears old (it's just a little baby) and is very nice. They have a nice pitching and batting area for fans. I bought some tokens and did some pitching versus Frank Thomas and Paul Konerko, my fastest pitch was 44mph (some kid before me got it to 55mph) and I decided to bat against Freddy Garcia. For dinner that evening, I had a 1/2 pound Friar Frank and had this great beer from San Francisco called "Anchor Steam" (I wonder if Palmers has it? It was sooo goood!) At the end, the Padres won and beat the last place Rockies. The highlight of the game was sitting next to a cute little baby girl who always laughed at me...or smiled with me, as I like to say.
